My end of term reflection

WALT: evaluate our learning honestly

What is an effective learner? Someone who gets on with there learning and don't sit next to blockers.


What were the highlights for this term? Why? Grasshopper tennis because I learnt more skills and I'm getting better at tennis.

What were your greatest challenges this term? Why? Cross country because I made it the hole way but at the end I got really tiered.


How are you going towards acting with integrity? Why?  How could you improve? Good because I sometimes pik up pens when nobody tells me to. but I need to get better at it because I am a directed learner.


What are your goals in our learner disposition wall?  Where to next? Trying to get better at not being more the teachers telling me what to do and me doing it myself to go to guided.

Grasshopper tennis

WALT:  improve our small ball skills like catching, throwing, and hitting.

Description: We have been participating in a tennis programme with Big John (John Salisbury) from Tennis Manawatu. He has taught us some tennis skills that help with controlling and hitting the ball 
Why? To reflect on how we are going with the tennis skills we have learnt. We will share this during our Student Led Conference.
When? Week 8
Who? The World

Writing sample

WALT: inform

Description: write a explanation about something you have 
learnt about energy I did potential and kinetic.

How does a newtons craddle work? Well if you pull one 
Of the balls up on the end up and you don't 
Let go its called potential or stored energy.
If you let go of the ball it transfers kinetic 
Energy through the other balls and goes
To the ball on the opposite side.


If you pull two of the ambles up another 
Two marbles on the other side will go up.
But if you do tree marbles at a time there are two marbles at the bottom
Then the and marble goes on the other end.

Self evaluation: I think I did well at doing my draft and editing my writing after I did the writing.

Integrity


WALT: communicate a message with others.
WALT: show integrity.

DESCRIPTION: We have been learning about integrity.  We want to share our understanding with others.

What? Make a Puppet Pal to show our understanding of integrity I think I did well at showing integrity because I WAS telling people and helping people out
Why? To show what we know about integrity, to share during our Student Led Conference we did the integritey post on puppet pals 
When? Term 2, Week 1 - 7
Who? The World



EVALUATION: I contributed with the other people on my group.

WALT: communicate a message with others.
Create a story board showing the beginning, middle and end of our message I think my group did well doing the beginning middle and the end because first the owl asks the kangaroo look after my phone then the kangaroo drops the phone then the ninja finds the phone and gives it to the teacher  
Use Puppet Pals as a tool to share our message I think my group did good because we did a good puppet pal and I think we did well
Keep our audience engaged I think I we didn't do as well as we could do because our mane message wasn't integrity. 

WALT: show integrity.
Everyone in our group has contributed evenly good because we all did our own models
Integrity is the main theme of our message in the middle because we  kinda did kotahitanga.

I integrity by showing the teacher my spelling instead of not showing the teacher. I show integrity by putting labels when the teacher didn't know. I show integrity by going under furniture and getting pens

WALT: show our understanding 

Description: We did recording and we edited it on I movie and uploaded it to YouTube. We Edited it and put music and our VoiceOver on.

Self Evaluation: I think we did well by having it on YouTube and Sam hade a clear voice and I did well 
on keeping the camera still but I think we could work on explaining why he had more kenetic energy.


Feedback:I think you did good but next time you could have a better description.#hunter

Reading sample

WALT: Rote learn

This is a mnemonic a mnemonic is when you have a word and you have all of the letters and the you turn the letters into a word here's an example.

Discription: 
We did a challenge with Nics writing group we did a challenge where you had to do 5 or more mnemonics. I did 6 mnemonics because I wanted to challenge myself. I like doing this beause I like thinking hard.

Evaluation: I think I did good but I need to do harder words next time.
